Dr. Marc Austhof

Dr. Austhof has been practicing at the Traverse City Walmart for the past 13 years. He grew up in Hudsonville, Michigan, graduating from Hudsonville High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in biology from Bob Jones University and earned his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 1996. Graduating from one of the top optometry schools in the country has given Dr. Austhof a well rounded clinical background and experience to manage most eye diseases, not limited to but including glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration and many others. Dr. Austhof also enjoys fitting all types of contacts and especially the tougher more challenging cases.

Dr. Austhof met his beautiful bride of 13 years in Marquette, Michigan and they moved to Traverse City in 2000. They have been blessed with 4 beautiful children. Dr. Austhof enjoys spending time with his family first and foremost and also can be found chasing his dogs through the woods in pursuit of Ruffed Grouse in the months surrounding October. He also enjoys reading, cooking and being active in his local church, Immanuel. Dr. Austhof believes in giving back, and he donates his services to the Traverse City Life Clinic and also participates as a volunteer eye care provider for the local CHAP's program.
